300 room, 10-story, 205,000 SF, post-tensioned concrete, flat plate structure with an elevated pool structure. It is situated adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel. The Westin Hotel is slated to be the “Cornerstone” of the Marketplace Entertainment Development. Together the $70.0 million project, which has begun construction, was the first significant development in downtown Birmingham in the last several years and one of the leading projects in the downtown revitalization movement. The project included the coffee shop and swimming pool.
