Birmingham International Airport Modernization

Birmingham, AL

MBA provided the sediment and erosion control design and assisted with ADEM permitting for the 3-1/2 year long project. Due to the Airport’s need to keep existing the terminal and concourse open and proximity to Village Creek (a tier 1 classified waterway), MBA’s design had to be inventive and unique to adhere to ADEM’s rigid policies and fit the Airport’s challenging site. MBA has also worked on 3 other drainage and erosion control projects over the past 5 years in the efforts to remediate and stabilize the vast acres maintained by the Birmingham Airport Authority.
