Birmingham International Airport Modernization
Birmingham, AL

MBA provided the sediment and erosion control design and assisted with ADEM permitting for the 3-1/2 year long project. Due to the Airport’s need to keep existing the terminal and concourse open and proximity to Village Creek (a tier 1 classified waterway), MBA’s design had to be innovative and unique to adhere to ADEM’s rigid policies and fit the Airport’s challenging site. MBA has also worked on 3 other drainage and erosion control projects over the past 5 years in the effort to remediate and stabilize the vast acres maintained by the Birmingham Airport Authority.

This project, which consisted of civil site design and survey services, was located in a high security area on DuPont's industrial campus in Mobile County.
